Settings-General
Here you can change
the general ACU
settings.

|
|
- Clipboards
- number of used clipboard buffers (You can set from 2 up to 16
buffers); - Save/Load clipboards at
Start/Exit - automatic saving of the data stored
in buffers when you quit the manager and automatic buffers load up when
you run the manager. - Run at Windows startup - automatic run at Windows startup; - Cyclic

the 1st buffer (see Cyclic
clipboard buffer); - Show splash at startup - when enabled the greetings window
is shown at startup; - the Load
defaults button restores the default settings; - the OK button confirms the changes
and closes the settings window; - the Cancel button closes the settings window and cancel the changes
been made; - the Apply button applies the changes
been
made.

Confirmations: This group of
options allows you to choose actions for which confirmations will be
shown. To simplify your work each confirmation window shows an operation
for which it is displayed.

It's done to prevent unwanted accidental
elimination of information. If you accidentally chose the operation you
should choose No in the confirmation window. You can disable confirmations
by checking the Never show this message again point in the needed confirmation window or by
unchecking the needed point in Confirmations in the general settings
window.

Clear current clipboard
- a request for clearing the current buffer will be shown; Clear all clipboards - a request
for clearing all buffers; Turn on cyclic
clipboard - a request for enabling cyclic
clipboard mode; Turn off cyclic
clipboard - a request for disabling cyclic
clipboard mode; Disable ACU - a request for disabling
ACU;
|
|
Exit - a request for
quitting the manager.
ACU
simulated
commands:
|
|
In some
cases ACU has to imitate copying/pasting data. It happens, for example,
when you use Advanced
Clipboard Operations or copy data not in
the 1st buffer etc. For some applications (especially old ones) copying is
done with Ctrl+Ins and not
with Ctrl+C. To avoid
inconsistency and inconveniences while using such software you are offered
to choose which key combination ACU will imitate for
copy/paste/cut.
|
|
ACU was developed in such a convenient way to let you use all its
abilities even with old software!

Here you can set
up indication parameters.

|
Enable color
highlighting - this item enables color
highlighting of the current buffer status (empty/not empty). It will be
applied to the icon in the System tray. If the highlighting is enabled you can choose
background color and text color for empty and full buffers from the set of
16 basic colors.
The next options group is used to setup the functional
menu. Show keyboard
shortcuts - enables showing hotkeys (keyboard
shortcuts) in the menu;
Show textual
clipboard status - enables textual clipboard
status (empty/not empty) display. This option is applied only to the
Activate menu item in the functional menu. For more convenient use only
the empty status (Empty) is shown for the empty
buffer.
|
|
Show clipboard status in color - enables background color highlighting of the buffer
status. This option is also applied only to the Activate menu item in the
functional menu. There are no limits for the number of used background
colors. To choose a color different from the 16 basic colors you should
press the More colors
button and then select the needed one.

Hot keys bindings
Here you can setup hotkeys to use the manager
quickly and easily.

Enable system hot-keys -
enables/disables manager hotkeys.
Warning! In demo version
only hotkeys for the first four clipboard buffers are available (See Registration).
To set a hot key
combination for a particular action you need to select it in the list of
actions (after that you will see the current combination for this action).
Then you are to press the needed combination of keys previously having
placed the cursor in the Press new key field and then confirm the combination by clicking
Assign. If the combination you chose is already in use for another action
then the action will be shown in the Currently
assigned to: field. After you clicked the Assign
button the new hotkey will be added to the Current
keys list. To remove a hotkey you should choose it
from the Current keys list
and press the Remove key
button. The Remove all
button allows to delete all hotkeys set for an action quickly. The Load defaults button restores
default
keys combinations for all actions.
It's possible to change current hotkeys and
set new ones for the buffers from 11 to 16 (for example you can use the
same combinations as for the first 10 buffers but replacing the numbers
with the letters q, w, e, r, t, y). Also you can enable/disable ACU and cyclic
clipboard mode with hotkeys (by default these
combinations are not set).
